Our first message in Advent 2022 is Hope by Pastor Dave Curtiss.

Hope has a name, and his name is Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6

What do you imagine, desire and believe about your future that can shape the way you feel about today?

In the Old Testament, the main Hebrew word for hope is the word yachal, which simply means to wait for.

Psalm 25:3, 20-21 (NIV)

Psalm 62:5-8 (NIV)

In the New Testament, they used the Greek word elpis to describe hope.

1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)

Hebrews 11:1-2, (NIV)

Advent begins this Sunday, December 4th!

The word advent comes from the Latin term adventus meaning "arrival" or "coming," particularly the coming of something having great importance. Advent season, then, is both a time of joy-filled, anticipatory celebration of the arrival of Jesus Christ and a preparatory period of repentance, meditation, and penance. Each Sunday morning we will take a moment to light a candle and reflect on an aspect of the Advent Season.

Join us this Sunday for the second message in the series: Be, the Church. The message is simply titled, “IN."

We live in Christ. The Bible also doesn't give us any room to do this life alone.

The author of Hebrews is telling us what Christ has accomplished and why Jesus matters.

How do I have access to God?

God's holiness and His perfection demonstrates that His love is so much deeper, so much wider, and so much more profound than we could ever imagine.

Our hope is in a Per

Be, the Church: “Up” October 30, 2022

Whatever we organize our lives around is what we worship.

"Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship." David Foster Wallace

As a church, what matters most to us?

We are a Jesus church.

What do you organize your life around?

That's the upward dimension.

Hebrews 12:2, John 15:4, Matthew 16:24, Colossians 3:2, 1 John 4:2

His resurrection was the start of God fixing the whole world (and me)

John 20:24-29

This Sunday (October 23) is the last message in Hope Happens Here. It's been a great series and we're ending with the ways you can kill hope in your life. Believe it or not, I believe it will be a very encouraging message!

 “Killing Hope”

Romans 15:13 (NIV)

How do I build damaged hope back up again?"

1 Kings 19:2 (NIV)

Israel is being prophetically challenged to come out of idolatry and live in the worship, justice and holiness of the one true God.

Hope Happens Here “Bringing Hope” October 16, 2022

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 (NIV)

When your life doesn't adjust itself to fit your hopes, how do you adjust your hope to fit your life?

Ruth 1:12b-13,15,20 (NIV)

Hope has to start where you are, not where you think you should be and not where you wish you were.

Hope Happens Here “Blessed Hope” 10.9.22

Titus 2:11-14

Why is Jesus going to come back?

Jesus is coming back to fix what is broken not to destroy what is broken.

Revelation 21:1

In Greek (John's language), there were two main words for new. From neos we get our word new. It means something chronologically new like a new car just off the assembly line or a new house being built from scratch. The other was kainos, which is the “new” John writes. It means qualitat
